Terriermen

◆ The prize for biggest lie of the season must go to Polly Portwin for claiming on national TV that terriermen don’t carry terriers in their boxes, only tools for mending fences.

◆ Terriermen have three main purposes on hunts: (i) To dig/flush out foxes that have gone to ground using their terrier dogs (ii) To block up fox dens and badger sett holes to prevent foxes going to ground. (iii) Hired thugs who attack and intimidate monitors/sabs to prevent filming.

◆ Digging out must be one of the most brutal and cruelest parts of hunting, not only for the foxes & badgers, but also for the terrier dogs used. All suffer horrific injuries. See the disfigured & scared faces of the dogs after years of fighting.

◆ Dog fighting is suppose to be banned in the UK; yet a loophole in the Hunting Act allows terriermen to send dogs underground into dens of foxes (foxes are also a species of dog) where cruel and barbaric dog fighting takes place. The foxes are dragged out of their dens by terriers (if not killed underground) and thrown to a pack of hounds/dogs to be ripped apart. This also happens with badgers.

◆ Terriermen, who are employed by hunts, attack and abuse monitors/ sabs, often causing serious physical harm, particularly when video evidence is being obtained of the hunts’ illegal activities. Often the are masked to prevent themselves being identified as they go about their illegal activity and abuse.

◆ Terriermen on hunts are nothing but public menaces to society, even their presence on hunts indicate illegal activity and cruelty.
